To mark the launch of the IDENTIS project (Integrated Development of Natural and Cultural Tourism in Tisa River Region), a press conference was held on 29 November 2018 at the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina.
Mr. Dejan Mak, project manager delivered the keynote address on the IDENTIS project itself. Afterwards, the audience was addressed by Nataša Pavlović PhD, Director of the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina, Beáta Kovács PhD, Deputy Chairperson, Government of the County of Csongrad and Smiljka Jovanović, Provincial Secretary for Finance.
In addition to the ViCTour project related to the improvement of cultural tourism in Srem, which the TOV is implementing with Croatia, the TOV has been awarded another project – the IPA-CBC project with Hungary. As the lead partner in the project, the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina together with the Csongrad County will promote another area in Vojvodina. This is the area of the Tisa region covering eleven municipalities.
The IDENTIS project (Integrated Development of Natural and Cultural Tourism in the Tisa River Region) is a joint initiative of both partners involved in each development segment. The priority is to solve the problems related to the lack of tourist offer. The partners agreed on the potential of the unique tourist offer of this region, which could be of interest both to the local and to foreign tourists. The expected main result of the project is to increase the number of visitors to cultural heritage POIs and attractions in the Tisa Region, as well as to establish cooperation between tourism organizations, operators, companies and the locals of the two neighboring countries.
