Danube river has proven as ideal for sailing and water sports and its beaches in Apatin, Bačka Palanka and Novi Sad are very popular among the local communities. Tisa, Sava, Tamiš and Begej are rivers on which numerous activities, competitions and boat races are organised. The best known tourist resort in Vojvodina on the water is Lake Palic (Palićko jezero). It is the host of many rowing and sailing competitions, and the water sports tradition is over a century old.
